Dear New LinkedIn Connection
Hello!
I send this note to all new LinkedIn Connections who I don’t remember meeting or chatting with in other venues.
A lot of these people are trying to sell me something. I get it. I respect hustle, but I’m not a fan of spam.
I also like to “assume positive intent” which is why I created this page. I value your time, and I hope you value mine.
If you are trying to sell me something, the answer is “no”
I say this because I don’t buy things from vendors who make initial direct outreach to me. This approach has served me well.
Unsolicited sales tip:
Enterprises buy things to solve pain. Unless you are 100% sure of the specific pain a buyer is “feeling” how do you know you aren’t wasting their valuable time?
With that ugliness out of the way, and in the theme of positivity, here’s what I’ve done since you sent me an invite:
I looked at your LinkedIn profile
I visited your company website
I accepted your invite
I sent you this note
If you would like to get to know me better, I ask one thing: please subscribe to my newsletter —
— I hope it provides you with value, if not now, perhaps it will in the future.
I believe in the power of long-term professional networking.
Whether you are a senior executive or junior BDR, I value our connection equally and look forward to following your work over the coming years.
But for the BDRs & sales reps who want to meet, the answer is still “no”.
In the mean time, keep in touch & happy hunting!
Chris Busse
